Free age: senior volunteers meeting young disabled people
is a social project made with the collaboration of Uniamoci onlus and Diakonisches Werk of Bremen (Germany), both organizations daily involved in social assistance and care of disadvantaged people.
Project’s main objectives are:
To facilitate non-formal learning of senior volunteers
To encourage the participation of people with fewer opportunities
Project’s activities will consist in an exchange of volunteers between the same organizations.
The new idea proposed can be resumed in the approach senior volunteer-disabled person. Volunteers will be selected among elder people coming from groups with fewer opportunities and disabled ones. So they will make an extraordinary experience abroad helping, through their work, disabled people of another country. At the same time this process will increase personal, social, intercultural and linguistic skills of volunteers, improving their role of active citizens among European Union.
